Have you ever wondered what it takes to create award winning prints?
Disappointed with no recognition for your hard work?
Have you ever put everything on the line and taken 1 of your best images and entered into a competition. So how did you do? Did you crash and burn like I have in the past.
Not too long ago, I entered my best images into the state photography awards, only to receive my case of prints back after about 2 weeks with NOTHING!!! very disappointing.
All that time wasted, choosing the best images, editing, printing and then re-editing and re-printing until they were perfect.
4 prints – winning 4 awards

About 2 weeks ago I entered 4 prints into out state professional photography awards and won 1 gold and 3 silver awards for these prints. This is the best result I have ever got in a professional photography competition.
What did I do differently this year?
This year I edited and printed all of these prints myself instead of getting a professional printing lab involved.
Did that make the difference?
“Maybe” is my best guess, but something obviously worked this year?
My techniques & methods:
Over the past few years I have developed a unique work flow for processing images, and getting them ready for print. This work flow has mainly come from my Limited Edition Fine Art B&W Prints. As some of you may know, printing on imported fine art paper is not cheap and a mistake with the post processing can cost a fair amount. I also want to make sure my fine art prints are of the highest professional standard out there.
This technique also saves me time and frustration, because I have full control of my image from start to finish.
My secret 12 step formula for processing an award winning picture.
In this 30 minute video I explain my secret 12 step formula for editing the image above, taking it from an average looking image to an award winning black and white fine art print.

Hi Gary. I might start a monthly contest, what do you think? Brent
Hi Brent, I'm sure this is a good video that you have put together. I just think the sample video would be better if you included the audio voice over that goes with it. Just a thought.
The full length video has an audio voice over. Brent
